There are currently well over 80 million refugees worldwide. The causes are war, violence, terrorist regimes, hunger, environmental disasters and, in many cases, the long-term consequences of colonialism. The vast majority of refugees only make it to neighbouring regions, only a few manage to reach industrialized, prosperous countries. But they in turn complain about the resulting burdens, often without recognizing their indirect complicity in these conditions.
We ask artistsfrom all over Germany and abroad to deal with the problem creatively and without blinkers. The aim here is not to develop one-dimensional propaganda messages, but rather toto convey multi-layered impulses and suggestions and to encourage them to engage with the topic.
