For 25 years, the Media Competence Center (MKZ) of the Saxony-Anhalt Media Authority has been offering the citizens of Saxony-Anhalt the opportunity to acquire knowledge about the content and technical basics of media production and media education. With a live studio for TV and radio as well as computer workstations for audio, video, internet and multimedia productions, the MKZ has all the necessary technical equipment. Employees have the opportunity to apply for educational leave for the courses offered at the MKZ. Highly qualified honorary lecturers from the field are available in order to do justice to the professional diversity of media literacy teaching. The aspect of multiplier training plays a particularly important role here. The 2024 autumn program is now ready.
“Phenomedial!” – Open training courses for all citizens – One of the main tasks of the Saxony-Anhalt Media Authority is to teach media skills. Competent use of media and orientation in a dynamically developing media world are regarded as core skills and are among the key skills of everyday and working life, regardless of a person’s age. Modern media and new communication technologies are changing at ever shorter intervals. At the same time, users can choose from an ever-increasing range of information and entertainment. The new possibilities offered by Web 2.0 to actively provide one’s own content on the Internet also increase the need for orientation, security and protection of one’s own personal rights. Media literacy makes it possible to handle such information responsibly and to process it into one’s own knowledge. In addition, media education work is becoming increasingly important in the area of preventative child and youth media protection as well as in media education and ethics. One of the most important tasks and challenges of this new lifelong learning is the targeted promotion of the ability to actively participate in shaping the newly emerging information and interaction space and not just to consume existing offers.
