The competition is open to artists who live and work in the Federal Republic of Germany and who have completed their studies at a recognized art academy or academy or who regularly and successfully exhibit their work. Artists who have had a solo exhibition at the Kallmann Museum in the past five years are not eligible to participate in the art prize.
Art Prize – Theme
The Kallmann Art Prize of the Kreissparkasse 2024 will be awarded in the “Landscape” category. The category of landscape is understood in such a way that, in addition to works that stand in the artistic tradition of “classical” landscape depictions, it also includes works that transcend conventional ideas of landscape and question them in a contemporary way, for example by dealing with aspects such as “habitat” and “living space” or the relationship between man and nature.
The prize is to be awarded to an artist in whose artistic work the theme of landscape occupies a central position. There are no restrictions with regard to artistic media.
