Further training and advice for the Alliance for Cultural Education

Cultural education is added value!

Our nationwide survey at the beginning of 2023 revealed that freelance work in cultural education is highly underpaid across all sectors. 46.8% of those we surveyed earned below the poverty line for a single-person household (€1250 per month threshold 2023 D). The average net earnings of those surveyed here were only just above the poverty line for salaried employees at around €1500 per month and, in view of the increased risks for solo self-employed workers, must be classified as at least at high risk of poverty.

What we have also seen: For better remuneration, the opportunity for diversification and simultaneous quality expansion, more know-how is needed. More know-how about self-employment rights, contract and fee structuring, fee guidelines, contract negotiation and protection – on all sides of the contractual partnership and in preparation for studies and training.

Independent mediator networks, cultural offices, further education institutions, universities and associations can now book us for in-house training courses, conference formats, workshops and consultations.
