The KUNSTSALON 2024 – SINE LOCO III / ABSURD BIS ZYNISCH: ALSO ROSA is a survey of contemporary art. We show what is being created in the studios today, independent of third-party assessments, in keeping with the tradition of the Paris Salons, when artists stood up to the dictates of dealers and museum curators. On display are 134 exhibits by 57 German and international artists. This year, the art salon will only take place as a virtual exhibition.

The deadline for submissions for the exhibition and the Christine Dobler Graphics Prize is March 20, 2025. The Christine Dobler Graphics Prize will take place for the fourth time in 2025 and will be increased to € 1,500.00! Despite ongoing intensive negotiations to resume the presence exhibition for the traditional KUNSTSALON, which has been taking place continuously for 66 years, the exhibition in presence for 2025 cannot be realized in the short time available.
We hope that KUNSTSALON 2025 will be the last online-only KUNSTSALON. That is why the active participation of our colleagues is now very important for the resumption in Presence 2026. However, because the online exhibition has been such a great success with its high number of views and sales, it will continue to be held in parallel with the face-to-face exhibition, which will hopefully take place soon.

The KUNSTSALON of the FMDK e.V. (Freie Münchner und deutscher Künstlerschaft) is currently Germany’s largest exhibition of artists with free submission. Free submission means that anyone and everyone can submit regardless of who they are. The only decisive factor is the quality of the work. The selection is made by a jury of colleagues. The composition of the jury will be published in the catalog accompanying the exhibition. The KUNSTSALON is organized on its own responsibility and self-administration. This means that it can and does act without regard to the commercial art market. In the tradition of the Parisian art salons, the KUNSTSALON of the FMDK e.V.
