Introduction to hand embroidery course
In this workshop you will learn the basics of hand embroidery. I will teach you the different types of stitches. The introduction to the stitch types will build on each other, e.g: Front stitch, back stitch, stem stitch, chain stitch, festoon stitch, cross stitch, knot stitch, witch stitch, wrap stitch, split stitch and satin stitch. The different techniques will be examined on the basis of historical models, tried out anew and should find their way into the participants’ repertoire of artistic means. In discussions, approaches to individual artistic positions that work with the means of embroidery can be incorporated into the course based on interests in order to sharpen the focus on the medium of embroidery.
The aim is for each participant to have stitched their own individual sampler by the end of the course.
Course fee: 210 €, for students and trainees 190 €
plus material costs: 10 € for cotton fabric, embroidery thread, small embroidery hoop
Catering: Drinks such as coffee, tea and mineral water as well as fruit, sweet and savory snacks are available free of charge.
