The OPEN CALL for the exhibitions of the 13th Wiesbadener Fototage is in full swing! We are inviting photographers and artists to submit photo or video projects on the festival theme “Future? What future?!”.
What can the selected applicants expect? Among other things :
International promotion
An exhibition during the Wiesbadener Fototage from August 23 to September 7, 2025
Publication in the catalog of the Wiesbadener Fototage
Two sponsorship prizes (jury prize and audience prize) of 1,500 euros each
Remuneration
All selected photographers will receive an exhibition fee of 250 euros. For participation in the opening weekend of the 13th Wiesbadener Fototage, an additional travel allowance of up to 150 euros will be granted.
Participation
Photographers from all over the world can submit up to two photo series to participate in the seven main exhibitions of the 13th Wiesbadener Fototage. It is also possible to submit up to two 1-channel video works. There are no stylistic or technical restrictions, nor are there any limitations on the nationality or age of the applicants. The only thing that counts is that the content is related to the festival theme and the quality of the realization is convincing. The submitted photo series must comprise at least six individual motifs and should not exceed 12 motifs. AI-based works must be named as such.
The application for participation is exclusively online!
We are looking for photo series/video works that deal with the content of this year’s festival theme “Future? What future?!”. An independent conceptual realization should be recognizable.
We ask ourselves: What kind of new world do we want to create together? What other worlds are even possible? How do we want to live? What do we want? What do we dream of? What do we want to save from the past and present for the future or even rediscover? What can we learn from other societies? How can we rethink the seemingly unchangeable? What new forms of coexistence are worth striving for? And how can we achieve this? And what future is there – in times of AI – for the medium of photography?
These are just some of the questions that the Wiesbaden Photo Days would like to address. The works submitted are intended to question supposed certainties, offer food for thought, raise hopes and open up new horizons, but we do not expect patent remedies or blanket solutions.
