Düsseldorf’s secular art prize – the DA! Art Award – is presented every two years by the Düsseldorf Reconnaissance Service on a different theme each time. He wants to inspire artists to take a critical look at religion and irrationalism. Two years ago, the theme was “The power of myth”. More than 1,300 applications were received. 100 works were nominated and four prizes worth a total of €10,000 were awarded. Now it’s time again – this time with our invitation to you: Check Your Dogma! DOGMENTS – they nest in all our heads, they are the fossilization of what we have heard, learned and thought. They are the unquestioned, sometimes even the supposedly unquestionable. For example, when it comes to ideology or traditions, where evidence and rational reasons count for nothing. The call for entries is aimed at artists who live and work in the Federal Republic of Germany. Works that explicitly deal with the advertised theme “Check Your Dogma” are eligible. Each artist can apply with one work.
