BBK Federal Association

The Bundesverband Bildender Künstlerinnen und Künstler e. V. has been representing the professional interests of freelance visual artists vis-à-vis federal politics and administration since 1972. It is the politically independent point of contact for the federal states in cross-state matters, for members of the German Bundestag and for bodies of the European Union.

The BBK Bundesverband is the umbrella organization of the BBK regional associations and their members or member associations; together, they organize more than 10,000 visual artists. It is a strong community of solidarity and lobby for all visual artists in Germany. It cooperates closely with other artists’ associations and cultural policy actors in civil society.

IG Fine Arts Halle (Saale)

Founded in 2023, the Interessengemeinschaft Bildende Kunst Halle (Saale) is a self-organized association of independent artists and cultural practitioners who are active in and for the field of visual arts. It stands for openness and transparency and pursues the goal of improving the situation of independent visual arts in Halle. In the area of cultural policy, a new perspective is needed: art is a meritocratic good that must be given greater importance in shaping social cohesion.

Together with neighboring interest groups, the IG Bildende Kunst forms the Alliance Freie Kultur Halle (Saale). The BBK Saxony-Anhalt is one of the founding members of the IG Bildende Kunst Halle (Saale) and is a co-signatory of the manifesto.
