Who can become a member?

Membership is regulated in the statutes of the “Berufsverband Bildender Künstler Sachsen-Anhalt e.V.”. Here it says in point 3:

“Membership of the BBK Saxony-Anhalt is open to natural persons who recognize its statutes and have the necessary artistic and theoretical qualifications.

Admission is open to anyone who has successfully completed a degree in an artistic, applied or corresponding scientific subject.

Can be recorded,
a) who can provide evidence of professional exhibition or publication activities or a qualified artistic practice,
b) anyone who has been excluded from the professional association, three years have passed since their exclusion and the Board of Directors has decided to reinstate them.

The admission committee appointed by the Board of Directors checks whether these requirements are met and whether the applicant can be admitted. The Board of Directors decides on admission.”

How much does membership cost?

A fee of EUR 35.00 is charged for the admission procedure following the admission meeting.

The amount of the membership fee is determined by the General Meeting. The current annual contribution is 110.00 euros, for senior citizens aged 75 and over it is 27.00 euros.

Documents to be submitted

Please submit the following documents to us:

• Completed and signed application form

• Curriculum vitae in tabular form
• Copy of the diploma certificate or comparable documents

Recording sessions

The BBK Saxony-Anhalt organizes two admission meetings per year, which, in addition to checking the admission criteria, primarily serve to get to know the new members, the board, the admission committee and the employees of the office. We invite the registered artists to present themselves with selected artistic works in a pop-up exhibition and to briefly introduce themselves – including their expectations of the professional association.

The admission meetings usually take place at the beginning of April (in Halle) and the beginning of October (in the respective region in the BBK focus).

Registration deadline

The registration deadlines are usually March 15 (for the April admission session) and September 15 (for the October admission session).
