The Friedrich Weinhagen Foundation, in cooperation with the BBK Hildesheim and the Galerie im Stammelbachspeicher, announces the JUNGE KUNST! sponsorship award in the Hildesheim region for the year 2025/26.
The prize is awarded in the form of a studio grant
(studio rent incl. ancillary costs) for one year, from April 2025 – April 2026, as well as a sponsored solo exhibition. It is expected that the studio will be open to the public at regular intervals (for example during the exhibition vernissages of the gallery in the Stammelbachspeicher).
The 25sqm studio is located with five other studios on the 4th floor of the Stammelbachspeicher, Wachsmuthstrasse 20/21, 31134 Hildesheim.
The prize is aimed at young artists up to the age of 35 who were born in Hildesheim or who are connected to the Hildesheim region through their artistic work.
The studio grant is awarded for a specific artistic work project.
Artists and artist groups from all areas of the visual arts, such as painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, video, performance and new media, can apply.
To participate, the following documents must be submitted by PDF:
1- Curriculum vitae with a description of the artistic development and the main focus of work
2- Work samples of works from the last three years in the form of a portfolio with photos, stating the title, technique and dimensions
3- List of exhibition participations and any existing catalogs as PDF
4- Concept or explanations on the subject of the artistic project

Representatives of the Friedrich Weinhagen Foundation and the board of the BBK Hildesheim form the jury and decide on the awarding of the sponsorship prize.
The jury’s decision cannot be contested.
Rights
By participating, each artist acknowledges the conditions of the competition and the decision of the jury.
The rights to the works remain with the artists.
The prizewinners grant the Friedrich Weinhagen Foundation the right to publish all submitted, conceived and exhibited works free of charge for the purpose of press and public relations work.
