Rednitzhembach: Artwork for the center island of the new traffic circle on state road 2409

The following are involved in the new traffic circle

– Municipality of Rednitzhembach

Extension with a work of art: in spring 2025

The following conditions have been imposed by the State Building authority:
Safety and ease of traffic must be guaranteed:

  • Depending on the planning, fixed obstacles or visual obstructions must be at least 5 m from the edge of the road. This means that an area of approx. 15 meters in diameter is available.
  • Max. Height of a design/object 4 meters
  • Proof of stability is required in the case of a sculpture or similar
  • Keeping the field of vision clear
  • The design must not be distracting, dazzling, reflective, etc.
  • Electricity is available
  • Planting in the field of vision area with a height of max. 0.80 m; all planting only with trunk diameter < 10 cm

The artist must procure the materials. The costs for this must be included in the fee invoice. Any costs incurred for the calculation of the statics, the foundation and transportation will be borne by the municipality of Rednitzhembach.

The application documents should include:

  • Model or drawing of the art object/design
  • Description or train of thought
  • List of fees and material costs
  • Indication of the VAT included or that the small business regulation according to § 19 UStG is used.

An independent jury – consisting of

  • from 1st Mayor Jürgen Spahl,
  • Rednitzhembach’s cultural representative Christel Vogelsang and
  • the members of the Rednitzhembach Art Advisory Board

then makes the decision.

The Staatl. Building Authority is informed of the decision and must approve it.
Fee incl. Material: approx. 30,000 euros gross

After implementation, the art object will be included in the “Rednitzhembach Art Trail“.
