The Bundesanstalt für Immobilienaufgaben (BImA), as the client, has launched an open, non-anonymous application process for the Kunst am Bau competition. The artwork is intended for the new extension to the Blumberg Federal Police Station in Ahrensfelde, Brandenburg.
The new three-storey extension will house both the Federal Police’s flying squadron and the helicopter squadron of the state police. The planned area for art in the building is located in the outdoor area between the separate main entrances.
Artistic design wanted for the outdoor area
The aim of the Kunst am Bau competition is to obtain an artistic design for the exterior of the new extension.
The works should serve to create a sense of identity and contribute to the artistic enhancement of the site.
Artistic interventions are desired that do justice to the location and the task of the federal and state police.
In addition, artistic positions are sought that reflect the contemporary art of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The gross sum for the realization is 140,000 euros.
Application deadline is October 7, 2024, 11:59 p.m.
The selection committee will nominate seven participants from the applications received. The art competition follows the federal guidelines on art in architecture and the guidelines for planning competitions (RPW 2013), insofar as these are applicable. The competition is coordinated by Stefan Krüskemper; the competition language is German.
Application deadline: October 07, 2024
