Procedure
Phase 1: Participation in the KUNSTPREIS DEUTSCHLAND is by submitting photos by uploading a maximum of five works of art (disciplines: painting, sculpture/object, photography/digital art) via an online form at www.kunstpreis-deutschland.de.
Phase 2: A jury of five experts (photo jury) will view the digitally submitted works on a large screen – and nominate those works that qualify for the final jury meeting. The final jury meeting, at which the three award winners are selected, takes place approximately one month after the nomination meeting.
Phase 3: The following art prizes will be awarded in a festive setting:
- Gold Award “KUNSTPREIS DEUTSCHLAND 2024/25 for Painting”
- Gold Award “KUNSTPREIS DEUTSCHLAND 2024/25 for Sculpture / Object”
- Gold Award “KUNSTPREIS DEUTSCHLAND 2024/25 for Photography / Digital Art”
B. Key data
Dates:
- Application: Upload (1 to 5 works) to www.kunstpreis-deutschland.de until May 31, 2024
- The jury nominates digitally submitted works for the final jury meeting: until Oct. 31. 2024
- Announcement of the works nominated by the expert jury by e-mail: until Nov. 30. 2024
- An independent jury of experts selects the winners: until January 31, 2025
- Presentation of the GERMAN ART PRIZE 2024-25: April 2025 (date not yet fixed)
Book on the art prize: Publication of a print documentation and an e-book on the GERMAN ART PRIZE 2024/25, in which the nominated works (photos and text), the award-winning works – and the names of the artists are presented.
In addition, all artists applying (including those not nominated by the jury) will be named on www.kunstpreis-deutschland.de with their first and last names and place of residence.
Conditions of participation for the KUNSTPREIS DEUTSCHLAND 2024/2025
1. academic training and/or an adequate exhibition CV.
2. there are no restrictions on origin. Artists from Germany and abroad are welcome.
3. disciplines: including painting, sculpture / object, photography / digital art
4. themes of the works to be submitted (1, 2, 3, 4 or 5) are freely definable (slogan: Art powers future)
5. the works must be placed via photo upload on www.kunstpreis-deutschland.de.
6. applications with max. five works (at least one work), each not older than 10 years.
7. short description (max. 1/5 DIN A4 page per work) of the works to be provided with titles.
8. biography: compact CV (max. 1/1 DIN A4 page)
9. processing fee / lump sum for expenses:
9.1 Submission of one (the first, if applicable) work: € 50.00 incl. VAT. (Artists up to 35 years: € 0.00)
9.2 Submission of a second work, if applicable: € 40.00 incl. VAT. VAT. (Artists up to 35 years: € 0.00)
9.3 Submission of a third work, if applicable: € 30.00 incl. VAT. VAT.
9.4 Submission of a fourth work, if applicable: € 20.00 incl. VAT. VAT.
9.5 Submission of a fifth work, if applicable: € 10.00 incl. VAT. VAT.
10. three art prizes: Gold Awards in the disciplines of painting, sculpture/object, photography/digital art.
C. Tender conditions
C.1 Authorization
All artists with an academic education (alternatively with an adequate, supra-regional exhibition history) from Germany and abroad are eligible to apply.
One to five (1 – 5) original works in the art disciplines of painting, sculpture/object, photography/digital art that are not older than 10 years and were created by the applicant are eligible.
There are no restrictions as far as the form of artistic expression is concerned. The following may not be submitted …
… counterfeit works.
… heavily restored or damaged works.
… unlimited and unnumbered multiples.
… not self-made works (exception: designated joint works).
… works for which the exhibitor does not hold the (co-)copyright or right of use.
… displays that contradict applicable German law in word and/or image.
