Light painting
Light painting is a term for my pictures. It is derived from photography, which means light graphics. However, as my pictures are not graphic, but rather painterly, I don’t call them light graphics (photography), but light painting. For me, light is a subtle description of matter. My pictures are a materialized photographic examination of classical painting. I am not referring to specific pictures by individual painters, but rather to entire movements. It is important to me that I grasp the essence of an entire system and show myself as an understanding person. Through my formal proximity to the “old masters”, I understand my relationship to and distinction from them. It is an excursion into art history without time or names. They are pictures.
