The Meerkultur e. V. association is offering three residency scholarships at the Kunsthaus Stove on the Baltic Sea, for which people from the fields of visual arts, music, literature and philosophy can apply. All applications that formulate a concrete artistic, musical or theoretical concern that will be worked on during the residency are eligible. Artists and musicians who are self-taught are also explicitly addressed.
The Meerkultur e. V. association has set itself the goal of promoting art and culture. The association is based at the Kunsthaus Stove on the Baltic Sea. The Kunsthaus Stove with its sculpture garden is located in the small village of Stove in the rural area between Wismar and Rerik, approx. 3 km from the Salzhaff/Baltic Sea.
The scholarship holders are selected by a jury of the Meerkultur e. V. association. They receive a 2- to 4-week stay free of charge in a fully equipped studio at the Kunsthaus Stove as well as the opportunity to work freely in the ATELIER THOUGHT RAVEN and in the garden as required. A piano is not available. The studio is a detached straw bale adobe house on the grounds of the Kunsthaus Stove. It is approx. 70 square meters in size and is heated with a wood stove.
Eligibility
People aged 18 and over are eligible to take part. There are no further age restrictions.

The closing date for applications is March 28, 2025. Please send your application documents by post only, in a maximum DIN C4 envelope (please no parcels and no registered mail) and with sufficient postage to the following address:

Application documents
The following application documents are requested:
1) One A4 page, font size 12, with the following information:
- First and last name, home address, telephone, e-mail address
- Website, if available, and links to recordings for the music sector
- Date and place of birth, short CV
- Title of the project to be worked on during the fellowship, max. 80 characters.
- Motivation and description of the project to be worked on during the scholarship, max. 1,500 characters.
2) For art and literature/philosophy: Illustration or documentation of own artistic work or writing samples, max. 3 A4 sheets. For music, links to digital recordings are accepted. Please do not send originals, plastic sleeves, elaborate folders, catalogs/books or data carriers.
The application documents will not be returned.
General conditions
Applications will only be assessed on the basis of the documents submitted by post. Applications sent by e-mail or on data carriers as well as any documents sent in addition to those requested cannot be considered. We kindly ask you to refrain from contacting us.
The Meerkultur e. V. association will decide on the awarding of the scholarship in April 2025. The decision is expected to be announced at the end of April 2025. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of the selection process by email or post. The selected scholarship holder will be announced on the homepage of the Meerkultur ostseekreativ.de association. The period for the residency scholarship will be set for the period between summer 2025 and the end of 2026 in consultation with the scholarship holder. Please do not carry out any work with oil or solvents during your stay. The submitted documents and personal data will be used exclusively for the awarding of the scholarship and will not be made accessible to third parties. Participation and the submission of documents do not give rise to any claims against the Meerkultur e. V. association.
Presentation
The scholarship holder is given the opportunity to present their own work to the public as part of an exhibition, a concert or a reading in the studio. However, there is no obligation to do so.
