“RESIDENCY 2.0 exploring porcelain” (from October 14, 2024 to February 14, 2025) promotes international artists and designers and offers them a free space to research, experiment and develop innovative concepts in working with porcelain and ceramics.
Scholarship holders receive the following funding
- Guest studio at the HPM
- Provision of guest apartment, Friedrichstr., OF
- Promotion of artistic work 1,000.00 per month
- RMV ticket (alternatively Deutschlandticket) monthly 106.20
- Material for works of the scholarship holders one-time up to 500,00
- Travel expenses: one-off travel to and from the event up to 1,500.00
- Issued once Cost assumption in consultation
- Documentation of the creative positions and works (photography, film, catalog, etc.) one-time assumption of costs by arrangement
- Accompanying program / lectures one-time up to 500,00
- Teaching/ workshops one-off up to 500.00
There is no legal entitlement to the scholarship.
Requirements for applicants
- Young artists/ graduates of art colleges, academies or related educational institutions who have intensive experience with ceramic materials and plan to deepen their artistic or creative practice, especially with the material porcelain.
- Full-time freelancer
- Compulsory attendance for the period of 4 months/work on the HPM on at least one day. 4 days per week based on the opening hours
- proof of private health, liability and accident insurance must be provided for the duration of the residency program
Combination with other scholarships
During the period of the HPM residency, participation in other scholarships or residencies is excluded. The financial support of the scholarship is tax-free.
Selection criteria
- Experience in working with porcelain/ceramics
- Achievement + aptitude (grades degree/certificates)
- Special successes (prizes, scholarships, exhibitions)
- Meaningful concept and letter of motivation for the work in the residency program
Feedback
A jury of experts selects 4 scholarship holders from the applications. You will receive feedback by the beginning of August 2024.
