Riddergade AIR is a three-month residency program where professional visual artists from all over the world can develop and immerse themselves in their artistic practice and strengthen their network.
With Riddergade AIR, Viborg Kunsthal offers artists workshop facilities, assistance for tasks of a practical and artistic nature as well as access to a broad local, national and international network.
The purpose of Riddergade AIR is to create connections between the residents and Danish artists and to facilitate new opportunities for international development of the Danish contemporary art scene.
The dates of the residency are Spring (3 March – 2 June 2025) or Autumn (25 August – 24 November 2025).
The residency program includes:
Workshop facilities at the Viborg Art Gallery and accommodation
A travel grant of 3,000 DKK
A monthly stipend of 5,000 DKK to cover living costs, transport as well as materials and production
Professional collaboration and exchanges with the art gallery’s staff, local artists, curators and other actors
A locally rooted network of volunteer co-hosts who introduce to the local area
