The Marion Ermer Foundation in cooperation with the Museum der bildenden Künste Leipzig awards the Marion Ermer Prize, endowed with EUR 5,000 each, to four young visual artists.
The prizewinners’ works will be presented in a joint exhibition and accompanying publication at the MdbK in 2025.
The call is aimed exclusively at young artists who have their primary or secondary residence in the federal states on the territory of the former GDR, but not in Berlin.
They must not be older than 35 years.
You must have completed a degree or be in the final phase of a diploma or master’s degree program.
Your degree or intended degree must have been awarded or be in the process of being awarded by a state art academy or a comparable educational institution of the federal states in the territory of the former GDR, excluding Berlin.
Artists from all media of the visual arts (painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, sculpture, installation, media art, performance) may apply.
Representatives of the applied arts and design are explicitly excluded from participation.
Age limit: up to 35 years
Regional restriction: only people from Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia, Brandenburg, Mecklemburg-Vorpommern can apply
