Duration: September 6 to 8, 2024

Opening event on Friday, September 6, at 7 p.m. in the historic town hall of the Hanseatic city of Salzwedel

The Wagen & Winnen-Verein invites you on a journey of discovery through Altmark, Wendland and beyond. On the weekend of September 6, 7 and 8, 2024, you can visit the rural area and its art productions as well as exhibition spaces and artists and get into conversation. In addition, there will be colorful programs, coffee & cake and other treats & drinks at many locations. The popular festival will take place for the 12th time in 2024. “We are delighted to organize the festival and would like to thank all our sponsors and supporters. It’s all about volunteer work in the preparation and implementation – both for us as an organizational team and for all the artists involved. It’s a great thing,” says Heinrich Herbrügger from the Wagen & Winnen-Verein.

Drawings, paintings, prints, object and video art, music, photography, ceramic and bronze works as well as practical arts and crafts… the selection of visual and performing arts is vast. The exhibition rooms themselves are also varied and worth seeing. From the historic granary to the small studio, the restored barn, the rural courtyard and the private garden, everything is there. The exhibitions stretch from Langendorf an der Elbe in the north to Oebisfelde in the south, from Schrampe in the east to Gavendorf in the west. Two federal states combine to create an art and cultural spectacle.

Many thanks go to the Mayor of Salzwedel, Olaf Meining, who has made the historic town hall of Salzwedel available to the Wagen & Winnen organization team as the opening venue and central exhibition. Wagen & Winnen is thus continuing its tradition of revitalizing historic and/or listed buildings with art and culture and making them accessible to the public.
