Group exhibition “Transfer”
Students and teachers of the HGB Leipzig, AdBK Munich and AdBK Nuremberg
After stops at the Akademie Galerie Nürnberg and the Radierverein München, the exhibition “Transfer” can now also be seen in Leipzig.
For the first time, the exhibition “Transfer” presents printmaking works by students and teachers from the renowned workshops for graphic printing techniques at three art academies: HGB Leipzig, AdBK Munich, AdBK Nuremberg. Printmaking has often been declared dead and abolished in many art academies, but for some years now this art genre has been experiencing a new renaissance and is anything but lifeless. How are screen printing, woodcut and linocut, lead typesetting, etching, lithography/offset and risography used artistically today? The exhibition explores these and other questions and shows the different approaches or similarities of the respective art academies in a comparison.
