Competition objective and task
The task of the competition is to make the programmatic aspirations of the Humboldt Forum and the actors gathered here visible to a broad public through an art-in-architecture work in a designated area on the northern gable end of the contemporary façade.
Furthermore, the artwork is intended to help mark the Lustgarten and Unter den Linden, which are characterized by reconstructions of monarchical elements, as part of a democratic, diverse and open space, if necessary also in critical reflection with the baroque façades. The client also hopes that a contribution to art in architecture will provide new impetus for the appropriation of the site by the diverse urban society.
Realization sum: € 120,000 (incl. VAT).
