The opening exhibition will feature works by Hans Jürgen Kallmann and the exhibition of the winner of the Kreissparkasse 2024 Kallmann Prize. The Kallmann Prize of the Kreissparkasse is the successor to the Kallmann Prize, which has existed since 2018.
The new and grateful commitment of Kreissparkasse München Starnberg Ebersberg to the prize is linked to an increase in the prize money. The prize is awarded to female artists living in Germany who deal with the themes of portrait / animal / landscape, which were the focus of Hans Jürgen Kallmann’s work.
Hans Jürgen Kallmann was a German painter and draughtsman who lived from 1908-1991 and on whose initiative the Kallmann Foundation was founded, which runs the Kallmann Museum in Ismaning. Exhibitions of modern and contemporary art have been shown there since 1992.
The Kallmann Prize of the Kreissparkasse is endowed with a total of 18,000 euros. It consists of 3,000 euros in prize money and 15,000 euros for a solo exhibition with catalog at the Kallmann Museum. In 2024, the prize will be awarded in the “Landscape” category.
