Art projects on regional reform in Münsterland wanted! On January 1, 1975, a reform of the century comes into force in Münsterland. As in the whole of Germany, numerous municipal and district boundaries are being shifted. Many a small town is incorporated into a larger one, town signs are exchanged, areas of life change from one day to the next. The regional reform, which is actually an administrative act, is digging deep into the region’s cultural identity. To mark the 50th anniversary of the municipal territorial reform, the Kulturbüro Münsterland is looking for artistic projects from various disciplines that deal with the effects of the reorganization. What impact did the reform have on identities and the local self-image in Münsterland? What curiosities or stories arose from this event? Which processes continue to have an impact today and shape tomorrow? Project requirements: Projects from all disciplines (e.g. literature, film, theater, visual arts, performance, media art) that deal artistically with the territorial reform in Münsterland can be submitted. Interdisciplinary approaches are also welcome. The projects can be digital or analog. The projects should build a bridge to the present and the future. The project results are presented to the public. The involvement of the population in the various phases of the project is desirable. Project budget: A budget of between €4,000 and €12,000 (gross) is available per project. This includes all costs (such as fees, production, materials, travel and accommodation). The Cultural Office will help you find accommodation. It is possible to acquire third-party funding during the course of the project (max. 50 percent of the project budget). Payment is made in three installments after the work contract has been signed. The artist is responsible for paying taxes. If the so-called foreigner’s tax is due, it will be paid by the organizer. Project period: The project is divided into the following phases:1. Project phase: research, preparation | October 1 to December 31, 2024; 2nd project phase: implementation | between January 1 and April 30, 2025; 3rd project phase: joint presentation week | May 7 to 11, 2025 (mandatory attendance) Attendance times: With the exception of the presentation week in May, there are no specific periods during which attendance is mandatory. However, a presence in the region should be sensibly planned depending on the project (please describe in the application). A kick-off is also planned for the beginning of October.who can apply?
