With the program “Kultur macht stark. Bündnisse für Bildung” program, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research has been funding extracurricular cultural education projects for children and young people who have little access to it since 2013. 27 program partners from education, culture and social services implement the program and support local projects that are applied for by alliances for education or carry them out together with local partners. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research provides up to 50 million euros annually for this purpose, thus contributing to more educational opportunities in Germany. You can find out more about the program and how to apply here: www.buendnisse-fuer-bildung.de.
As a project partner of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the German Museums Association will receive a total of 6 million euros for its “Museum macht stark” project between 2023 and 2027.
The aim of the project is to introduce children and young people between the ages of 5 and 18, who have little contact with museums at home, to what this public institution has to offer. “Museum macht stark” enables local alliances to implement extracurricular cultural education programs. Two formats advertised by the German Museums Association are binding.
