Review 2024
We would like to thank our almost 2,000 visitors for coming to the visible market 2024. It was a great, albeit very hot weekend, with over 50 artists presenting a high-quality and diverse range of products. Thanks to all exhibitors, our cooperation partners Kulturstiftung Sachsen-Anhalt / Kunstmuseum Moritzburg and Turm e.V., our sponsors – the friends and supporters of the Kunstmuseum Moritzburg and Hallesche Wohnungsgesellschaft mbH -, the group Mientras Tanto for their great musical highlight, our culinary partners – Biolecker, Gaumenschmeicheley, Kaffee & Kohle – and our organizing team Matthias Behne and Kerstin Krieg!
Special object
The new visible prize “The Special Object”, which the BBK Saxony-Anhalt awarded together with the HWG for the first time this year, was presented to Friederike Nottrott on Saturday. The jury – Thomas Bille (cultural journalist), Anne Deuter (book artist and BBK member) and Dr. Angela Dolgner (art historian and chairwoman of the Freunde und Förderer des Kunstmuseums Moritzburg e.V., one of our cooperation partners) – awarded the prize of 300 euros for her work “Friede dem Krieg”, which consists of three parts. She has transformed utensils from the First World War into peaceful objects. Carolin Schulze received an “honorable mention” for jewelry made from many small transparent glass beads that are crocheted onto a cotton thread.
Audience Award
Our new competition “The Special Object” also included an audience award. This was endowed with BBK prize money of 150 euros and a free annual membership of the “Freunde und Förderer des Kunstmuseums Moritzburg” association. The winner was Nicole Müller, who runs her photography label “Frau Müller” in Halle (Saale). She won over the public with a print that was produced using a special photobiological process. Nicole Müller applies a self-produced plant brew to paper and exposes it to light over a longer period of time. Similar to a cyanotype – only without environmentally harmful salts – she then applies her image motifs – in this case leaves and flowers – and places the paper in the sun to expose it.

Soon the time will come – on 7. and September 8, 2024, the moat of Moritzburg Castle will become a meeting place for art and culture!
More than 50 artists and designers will be showing their extraordinary range. Experience colors, shapes and materials in various forms and get to know the creative people behind them.

This year, the “visible – Art & Design Prize 2024” will be awarded for the first time. This is sponsored by HWG – Hallesche Wohnungsgesellschaft mbH. A renowned jury will select from the “Special Objects” visibly marked on the market. The award ceremony will take place on Saturday at 2.00 pm.

You are also in demand, because there will still be an audience award! This prize is sponsored by the BBK Sachsen-Anhalt e.V. and the Freunde und Förderer des Kunstmuseums Moritzburg Halle (Saale) e.V. Which “Special Object” arouses your particular curiosity? Which one particularly impresses you with its intensity, poetry or clarity? Which object do you find funny and inspiring…? All visitors are invited to cast their vote and thus have a say. Votes for the Audience Award will be collected throughout the weekend until Sunday afternoon. The audience award ceremony will take place from 16:00.
Mientras Tanto | Saturday | from 4 pm
Another highlight is the musical performance by Mientras Tanto on Saturday from 4 p.m. with old songs from Latin America.
Art education at Moritzburg Castle | Sat & Sun 12 to 4 pm
You can also look forward to a creative program offered by the art education department of the Moritzburg Art Museum on both days from 12 to 4 pm. As every year, there is of course a delicious selection of sweet and savory dishes, as well as coffee and drinks.
