In memory of the sculptor Bernhard Heiliger, the Bernhard Heiliger Foundation awards an annual scholarship for sculptors at the Berlin University of the Arts and the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee in the amount of a one-off payment of 1,000 euros, combined with a public presentation of works by the prizewinner in Heiliger’s former studio at Kunsthaus Dahlem.
Award guidelines
Applications are open to graduates specializing in sculpture from both universities where Bernhard Heiliger once worked as a teacher. Proof of graduation should not date back more than five years.

Application documents must be submitted in written and pictorial form by post (DIN A4 format) to Bernhard-Heiliger-Stiftung, Käuzchensteig 8, 14195 Berlin, or sent digitally as a PDF to (one PDF with max. 5 MB; documents max. 15 pages, including one page CV, one page motivation for application).
In the case of postal applications, please do not submit any originals or photographs in the sense of an original; the documents will not be returned and will remain in the Foundation’s archive.
Deadline
The deadline for entries is December 1, 2024; the postmark date applies. The jury’s decision will be announced in December of this year.
There is no legal entitlement to the scholarship.

A jury consisting of Dr. Friedrich Meschede (BHS Board of Directors), Dr. Philipp Norman John (BHS Board of Directors) and Dr. Dorothea Schöne (Artistic Director and Managing Director of Kunsthaus Dahlem) will decide on the award of this year’s scholarship.
