The Akademie Schloss Solitude supports young artists, scientists and young cultural professionals through residency fellowships. Scholarships are awarded to people who are no older than 40 or who graduated from university no more than five years ago. Students enrolled at a university cannot be included in the selection. Doctoral students are eligible to apply. Some scholarships are awarded without an age limit in accordance with a special regulation. As part of a scholarship, there is the opportunity to realize a project. Between 50 and 65 scholarship holders are selected every 24 months. There are 45 studios and three guest studios available for them. Scholarships are usually awarded for a period of six, nine or twelve months. Group applications are generally permitted. Applicants who are not accepted in a selection procedure can reapply for a maximum of two further calls for applications. Former fellows of Akademie Schloss Solitude are excluded from the application process. Language skills in German and/or English and/or French are required. The Solitude Fellowship is an attendance fellowship: Fellows are required to spend at least two thirds of their fellowship period at the Akademie.
