The Artist in Residence funding project in the art stable at Schönthal Monastery offers good working conditions for artists from spring to fall. It is part of the concept of the sculpture park that the works find their temporary location here in close collaboration with the artists.
After extensive renovation, a beautiful pasture barn was turned into an “art stable”. This forms an ideal complement to the church and sculpture park at Kloster Schönthal in Langenbruck/BL. The art barn has a spring water connection, but no electricity or heating.
The Schönthal Monastery Association is awarding a three-month studio grant to an artist from June to August 2025. In addition to the use of the spacious studio in the former pasture barn, the scholarship includes accommodation on site and a flat-rate contribution to living costs of CHF 2,500 per month excluding material and exhibition costs. The scholarship holder has the opportunity to show the works created during the studio stay in an exhibition.
