Symposium Experimental Printmaking

In September 2024, eight members of the BBK Saxony-Anhalt will come together at Posa Monastery in Zeitz to work together for a week. The artists are at home in the art of printing and look forward to experimenting. Not only does a well-equipped screen printing workshop await them, but also plenty of space to try out alternative techniques and an area that invites inspiration. The project is funded by the Art Foundation of the State of Saxony-Anhalt and is a sub-project of “ZEITGLEICH-ZEITZEICHEN 2024. Under the sign of contemporary experimental printmaking” of the BBK Bundesverband.

Participating artists:

  • Gert Burkard Büttner
  • Sebastian Harwardt
  • Julienne Jattiot
  • Elena Kiseleva-Arendt
  • Marion Münzberg
  • Rainer Rausch
  • Christina Simon
  • Grit Wolf

The focus of the joint working week is on collaborative work on the themes of experimental printmaking. The participants live in Wittenberg, Dessau, Halle, Bad Schmiedeberg, Weißenfels, Zeitz and Weimar. They have combined their printmaking focus in classical processes with cyanotype, digital processing, photography, transfer lithography, collagraphy and much more. Posa Monastery offers the best conditions for experimentation: Time, space and silence. But of course there is also a very well-equipped screen printing workshop and an event room for mobile and spontaneous printing techniques. The nearby city center of Zeitz contributes to urban printing. The newly designed hostel is a great place to end the day and discuss the work processes.

On September 27, 2024 between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., all print enthusiasts are invited to take a look and talk to the artists.
